“Gervais Restaurant, tucked away in leafy Saratoga, is a delectable find!

We just had a nice evening one recent Thursday there. We sat outdoors in the front patio, in a setting rather European in feel, something not commonly found in the Bay Area.

Gervais' menu is classic French. Creations such as venison and onion soup lay side by side the soufflé and foie gras. Accompanying them is a long wine list, offering excellent selection, ranging from French to Californian. Price wise, it's in the mid-range among the finer restaurants in the South Bay.

All and all, it is the service that would rank Gervais among the best. Exceptional, I must say. From the time we showed up at the door to the time we finished our dinner and took our leave. The staff displayed good knowledge of food and wine, and friendly and prompt always. It only enhanced our enjoyment that when we were there on Thursday there was live music in the piano bar, extending its charm out onto the sidewalk in the evening.

If your palate would come alive on authentic French food and fine wine, put Gervais on your list!”
